BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
Joe John, Guilford
College
John, a sophomore from
Raleigh, N.C., hit .448 through the Quakers' first eight games of the
season. He has hit safely in each contest, recording three
multi-hit games. He leads Guilford with five stolen bases in as
many attempts, 11 walks and a .619 on-base percentage. His batting
average is second on the squad as well are his nine runs scored, 13 hits
and four doubles. He matched his career high with three hits
against Averett and Rutgers-Newark. John belted two homes in
Guilford's loss to Averett, matching another personal best.

THE WEEK

Lynchburg College
Moore, a sophomore from
Lynchburg, Va., posted a 3-0 record in the Hornets' early season to go
with a 2.84 earned run average. The right-hander has allowed 15
hits and six walks while striking out 15 in 19 innings of work. He
pitched 6.2 innings of scoreless relief at Greensboro on February 10,
earning the win with five punch outs. He defeated So. Virginia on
February 17 and threw a complete-game four-hitter Saturday in a 2-1 win
over Juniata.

with one RBI against nationally-ranked Rowan... did the same

Has a 0.90 ERA through four appearances thus far... recorded his
first collegiate win with four shutout innings of relief in GC's
comeback win over So. Virginina... fanned a career-high six
batters in the win... he has yet to yield a walk in his 10
innings while striking out 11. |

Led E&H with has hit safely in four of his first nine ABs with
two runs scored and two RBI... Was perfect at shortstop with
seven assists and six putouts. |

Hitting .345 with 10 hits in 29 ABs... Has five doubles on the
season and has scored five runs. |

MEN'S LACROSSE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zach Thomas,
Roanoke College
Thomas, a junior from
Bel Air, Md., led the Maroons to two wins in the opening week of the
season including a victory over #19 St. Mary's. In Roanoke's first
game of the season, a win over Mary Washington, Thomas had four goals
and two assists to go with five groundballs. in the win over St.
Mary's, Thomas scored three goals and added an assist. He also
picked up four groundballs.

turnovers from his defensive position in GC's opening game
against York... Helped the Quakers convert 21-of-28 clear

HSC's 13-6 win over Mary Washington. |

Led the Hornets to a 14-9 win Saturday with five goals and an

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Colleen Evans,
Washington & Lee University
Evans, a sophomore from Lexington, Va.,
registered four goals and two assists as the 11th-ranked Washington &
Lee women's lacrosse team picked up its first-ever victory over
13th-ranked St. Mary's, 11-10, on Saturday afternoon. In a 17-1
win over the University of Dallas, Evans scored one goal and helped on
another while picking up two groundballs and forcing a turnover.
SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
Tara Campbell,
Lynchburg College
Campbell, a sophomore from Leesburg, Va.,
powered Lynchburg to a double-header sweep over Meredith in the Hornets'
only two games of the season thus far. She homered in each game,
and has an .800 on-base percentage with a 2.667 slugging percentage.
Campbell has also collected four runs batted in on the season.
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF
THE WEEK
Nikki Taylor, Sweet
Briar College
Taylor, a freshman from Wendell, N.C.,
picked up her first collegiate win, and Sweet Briar's first victory of
the season, with a 1-0 shutout against Chowan University on February 17.
She has been in the circle for two of the Vixens' three wins this
season. Against Chowan, she game up only four hits and walked a
pair to earn the victory.

Was 4-for-6 in
two games over the week, collecting one RBI... she was also
solid defensively with five assists and two putouts. |

Kelly Hale, Guilford |
Led the Quakers
with a .381 batting average with eight hits, four walks, five
RBI and two doubles in the first eight games... Had career highs
of three hits and three RBI in a win over Peace... Hit her first
collegiate homer in a loss to Peace. |

Krystal Ellis, Sweet Briar |
Tied for first
on the team with five runs scored and seven RBI... Hit her first
homer of the season in a game-ending grand slam against Meredith
on February 18. |
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER
OF THE WEEK
Seth Feibelman,
Washington & Lee University
Feibelman, a junior from Richmond, Va.,
helped the Generals to a 2-1 start to the season with wins over Emory &
Henry and Sewanee surrounding a loss to Division I Furman. He went
1-0 at #1 singles and 1-1 at #2 doubles. He also picked up one win
at #1 doubles. Against Sewane, he won his #2 singles match love
and two, and picked up a #1 win 6-1, 6-1 against E&H. Against
Furman, he fell by a break in each set at the two position.

student-athlete to win both singles matches in GC's opening
matches... helped the Quakers pull out a 5-4 win over Greensboro
with straight set win at #4 singles... he also went 1-1 in

match of the season, 6-3, 6-2, against Greensboro. |
WOMEN'S TENNIS
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Krystal Parrish,
Guilford College
Parrish, a junior from Greensboro, N.C.,
helped Guilford to a season-opening win at Peace with a comeback win at
#2 singles 6-7, 6-1, 11-9. She also won at first doubles, 8-6,
with partner Nika Botkin. He victory in singles play was her first
second singles match since 2005.
