BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
Kyle Bradley,
Lynchburg College
Bradley, a sophomore
from Brookneal, Va., hit .619 last week to lead the Hornets to a 4-2
showing with all four victories coming in conference play.
Lynchburg's second baseman scored at least one run in each of the team's
six games, crossing the dish eight total times. He hit safely in
13-of-21 at bats, driving in a pair of runs and stealing a base in the
effort. He also walked twice to post a .680 on-base percentage.
BASEBALL PITCHER OF
THE WEEK
Larry Greene,
Hampden-Sydney College
Greene, a senior from
Alexandria, Va., picks up his second ODAC weekly honor after tossing a
complete game to win the first of two games against Emory & Henry over
the weekend. In seven innings of work, he gave up one run on six
hits while fanning seven and walking a pair. On the season, Greene
is 3-1 against ODAC foes.

Read batted .466 with a pair of doubles, two homers and five
RBI... he also tossed seven innings in a victory over EMU,
striking out eight Royals. |

Went 11-for-20 with a double, two triples and a pair of RBI to
go with three steals... also threw a pair of scoreless innings
of relief. |

Byron Myers, Guilford |
Myers went 5-for-8 in two Quaker wins with three doubles and
eight RBI, four in each game. |

Paul Keenan, Guilford |
Scattered 11 hits over eight innings, surrendering only two
earned runs while fanning 11 in a victory over Southern
Virginia. |

Josh Michael, Hampden-Sydney |
Went 7-for-11 with five runs scored, five driven in and two
stolen basses in a 3-1 week for the Tigers. |

D.W. Moore, Lynchburg |
Went 1-0 in two starts last week, throwing nine innings to
defeat RMC... he scattered 10 hits while giving up only two runs
and striking out two against the Jackets. |

Alan Moore, Roanoke |
Batted .385 in four games last week, driving in five runs and
scoring twice himself... three hits and four RBI came in a road
win at Guilford |

Jonathan Wills, Roanoke |
Pitched a seven inning complete game, allowing one unearned run
to give the Maroons their first ever win over Virginia Wesleyan. |

David Miller, Washington & Lee |
Went 3-for-5 with a 3-run homer in W&L's only game last week
against Southern Virginia. |

Jeff Pharis, Washington & Lee |
Tossed three innings against Southern Virginia, giving up two
runs on two hits in relief. |
MEN'S LACROSSE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zach Thomas,
Roanoke College
Thomas, a junior from
Bel Air, Md., had six goals and three assists as the maroons went 2-0
last week. He had four goals and two helpers in the team's home
win over #14 Hampden-Sydney. He also had six groundballs in that
victory. In the team's win over Widener University, Thomas had two
goals and an assist for three points and also picked up four
groundballs.

Won 23-of-41 face-offs in two ODAC matches, winning 14-of-24 in
a loss to Lynchburg and 9-of-17 against VWC. |

Scored seven times and assisted on another in a 1-1 week for the
Tigers. |

Drew Smythers, Virginia Wesleyan |
Helped VWC to a 2-0 week by winning 19-of-36 face-offs, giving
him 126 for the season, a new VWC record... he has 312 for his
career, only the second Marlin to do so in the program history
(356 by Bryan Smith, 1995-98). |

Chris Lalli, Washington & Lee |
Made 21 saves while allowing only four shots past him between
the pipes in an 8-4 win over VMI. |
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brooks Laufman,
Roanoke College
Laufman, a freshman
from Annapolis, Md., led all Roanoke goal scorers with six tallies in
the team's two ODAC victories last week. She scored twice in the
team's win at Lynchburg and then notched four more goals in a road win
at Guilford. She also chipped in three groundballs and a draw
control.

times and assisted on seven other goals in a 1-2 week for the

another tally in a loss to Roanoke, and then scored twice and
helped on three others in a loss to Mary Washington. |

Scored seven
goals in a 1-1 week for the Hornets including five tallies in a
18-9 win over SBC. |

Scored six
goals on 10 total shots in a 13-9 win over Bridgewater. |

Scored four
goals in a two-game week for the Vixens, all four coming against

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
Jennifer Hall,
Bridgewater College
Hall, a junior from Lynchburg, Va., hit for
a .461 average on the week as the Eagles went 3-1 with all action in
ODAC play. Hall was 1-for-3 with a 3-run homer in a 6-0 win over
Emory & Henry. In the second game against E&H, she was 0-2 but
walked three times and scored a run. In a loss to Lynchburg, Hall
was 2-4 with two homers, three runs scored and two RBI. In the
second contest against the nationally-ranked Hornets, Hall was 3-for-4
with two runs scored, four RBI and another homer to lead the Eagles to a
12-2 win. On the week, she hit four round-trippers and had nine
RBI with eight runs scored. She also stole four bases and walked
five times. Hall had an on-base percentage of .611 and a slugging
percentage of 1.386 in the four contests.
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF
THE WEEK
Courtney Brooks,
Randolph-Macon College
Brooks, a sophomore from Spotsylvania, Va.,
led the Yellow Jackets to three wins last week without surrendering a
run. In the 3-0 win at VWC, Brooks went the distance, allowing
just four hits to pick up the win. Thursday, Brooks tossed a
five-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Jackets topped
Maine-Presque Isle, 8-0. On Saturday, Brooks surrendered just one
hit in a 12-0 win over R-M Woman's College. For the week, Brooks
tossed 17 innings, giving up only five hits while walking five and
fanning 18.

Hit the
game-winning blast in a 6-5 win over Roanoke... batted .545 with
five runs scored and five RBI to go with a double, triple, and a
stolen base. |

a complete-game shutout of SBC and a 6-5 win over Roanoke... she
fanned eight batters in each game to give her 16 in 12 innings
of work. |

with four runs scored, a double and four RBI in six games for
the Quakers... went 4-for-4 with two RBI in a win over RMWC. |

Won back to
back games for the first time in her career with a six inning
effort against RMWC and then a seven inning showing versus NC
Wesleyan. |

Krystal Ellis, Sweet Briar |
Went 6-for-12
with six runs scored, two doubles, a pair of homers and eight
RBI last week. |

Rebounded from
a tough start against EMU to fan three in three innings of work
against So. Virginia. |
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER
OF THE WEEK
William Moss,
Hampden-Sydney College
Moss, a freshman from Fredericksburg, Va.,
picks up his second ODAC weekly honor by going 3-0 at #1 singles
and 2-0 at #1 doubles last week. He recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win over
Guilford, a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Eastern Mennonite, and a 6-0, 6-0
victory over St. Paul's in singles action. In doubles play, he won
8-6 over the Quakers and 8-0 against St. Paul's top pairing. On
the year, Moss is 9-1 overall and 6-0 in ODAC competition, all from the
#1 position.

in singles (6-3, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-3 at #2)... he won his
collegiate debut at the #1 spot with a 6-2, 6-1 showing over NC

Went 2-0 last
week (6-2, 6-1 over both BC And E&H) with both coming at #1
singles in ODAC competition. |

Eric Caudill, Virginia Wesleyan |
Won 6-0, 6-0 at
LC to improve to 24-3 on the year, a career-high total for
victories... he has won 17 of his last 18 matches and is now
13-1 in dual matches, all at #1, and 6-1 in the ODAC. |
WOMEN'S TENNIS
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hilary Teeter,
Bridgewater College
Teeter, a junior from Gettysburg, Pa., went
2-0 at #1 singles and 2-0 at #1 doubles as the Eagles picked up a pair
of ODAC victories over Emory & Henry and Sweet Briar. Teeter lost
only five games in singles action, winning 6-3, 6-1 against E&H and then
triumphing 6-1, 6-0 versus the Vixens. She partnered with Marlena
Pipkin to win 8-1 against the Wasps and 8-2 versus Sweet Briar in
doubles play.

MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK &
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ricky Flynn,
Lynchburg College
Flynn, a sophomore from Gaithersburg, Md.,
provisionally qualified for the NCAA D-III nationals in the 5,000-meter
run at the Duke Invitational over the weekend. His time of
14:40.80 finished 27th of 158 runners, setting a new ODAC top mark for
this season. He moved up to second all-time in the Lynchburg
histories.

Finished 56th
in the 5,000 at Duke in a time of 15:08.81, besting the BC

for the first time at Duke, setting the VWC record with a time
of 4:24.36. |
WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK
& FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Mary Mohay,
Lynchburg College
Mohay, a junior from Fairfax, Va., won the
pole vault at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Relays last weekend.
She cleared 10-feet 6-inches, nearly a foot better than the next highest
clearance in the ODAC this season.
