Randolph-Macon’s Erin Ewalt Named ODAC Swimming Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year


SALEM, VA -- Randolph-Macon’s Erin Ewalt has been named the 2005 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swimming Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year.

 

Ewalt, who was named ODAC Swimmer-of-the-Year for the third time in her career earlier this season, fashions a 3.39 GPA while majoring in business and economics and working towards a minor in journalism.

 

The Reisterstown, Maryland native is a two-time member of the ODAC All-Academic team.  A Dean’s List member in every semester at RMC, she is also the business and advertising manager for the school newspaper and a member of the R-MC honors program.

 

In the pool, Ewalt was named 2005 Atlantic States Championships Swimmer of the Meet.  She served as the Co-captain of the Yellow Jacket team this season.  At the ODAC Championship this year she set two ODAC and R-MC records  in the 200 IM and 400.  She also set school records in the 100 backstroke and 200.
