Six student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools earned a 2010 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the winter athletic schedule. Farm Bureau Insurance is the proud presenter of each award for the ODAC's 22 sponsored sports.

Spring championships are upon us, so Brad and J.J. return on the ODAC Podcast to bring a bit of added insight as the tournaments come along. In this episode, Hollins rider Katie Furches and Bridgewater gol coach Lee Williams join the show to have a look back on the recently complete equestrian championship and the upcoming golf tournament.

Hollins took home its 18th ODAC Equestrian Championship on Friday afternoon. HU's Katie Furches took home Rider of the Year honors with Hollins Sandy Gerald collecting top coach honors. Randolph's Lizzie Kerron took home the Rookie of the Year honor, and Washington and Lee's Tamara Morse won the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award.

A great deal of parity amongst the Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools will be showcased on Friday, April 9 at the 2010 ODAC Equestrian Championship. Randolph is the host of the event with Bridgewater looking to secure its second straight title.

Sweet Briar riding director Shelby French has recently become a regular contributor to the Chronicle of the Horse, writing for its "Between Rounds" department. French has authored two columns, in April and May, with another going to press this month.

In November, Sweet Briar's IHSA team mourned the loss of their beloved head coach Jon Conyers. Four days before his death from cancer, the team won the last show before the winter break and began a run that culminated in their appearance at the IHSA National Championship.
