Hollins took home its 18th ODAC Equestrian Championship on Friday afternoon. HU's Katie Furches took home Rider of the Year honors with Hollins Sandy Gerald collecting top coach honors. Randolph's Lizzie Kerron took home the Rookie of the Year honor, and Washington and Lee's Tamara Morse won the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award.

Sweet Briar riding director Shelby French has recently become a regular contributor to the Chronicle of the Horse, writing for its "Between Rounds" department. French has authored two columns, in April and May, with another going to press this month.

In November, Sweet Briar's IHSA team mourned the loss of their beloved head coach Jon Conyers. Four days before his death from cancer, the team won the last show before the winter break and began a run that culminated in their appearance at the IHSA National Championship.
