Sweet Briar riding director Shelby French has recently become a regular contributor to the Chronicle of the Horse, writing for its "Between Rounds" department. French has authored two columns, in April and May, with another going to press this month.

In November, Sweet Briar's IHSA team mourned the loss of their beloved head coach Jon Conyers. Four days before his death from cancer, the team won the last show before the winter break and began a run that culminated in their appearance at the IHSA National Championship.

Randolph College senior rider Ashley Lovegrove completed her brilliant career Saturday afternoon with a sixth place finish in the IHSA National Individual Championship. Lovegrove was the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete for equestrian this year.
