Brad Bankston
Commissioner

Brad Bankston is in his 16th year of service to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, his 12th year as the Commissioner of the league.

A native of Keysville, Va., Bankston received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from Virginia Tech in the summer of 1994.

Bankston, 38, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the league office and the administration of the ODAC's 22-sport program. In addition to his duties with the league, he serves as the conference liaison with the City of Salem on all four NCAA Championships which are hosted in Salem. He is involved on the national level through NCAA committee service having recently completed terms on the DIII Men's Golf Championships Committee and DIII Championships and Budget Committees.

Active in various additional national organizations, Bankston is the president-elect of the DIII Commissioners Association. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Salem, Virginia where he also serves on the Board of Directors.

Bankston, his wife Beth and sons Benjamin (6) and Burke (3) reside in Forest, Virginia.

James Nekoloff
Sports Information Director

James (J.J.) Nekoloff enters his third year serving as the Sports Information Director for the ODAC. Nekoloff arrived at the conference office in September 2006 after serving as Lycoming College's Sports Information Director.

Nekoloff received his undergraduate degree from Marietta College (Ohio) in 2003 and completed a masters in Business Administration at West Virginia Wesleyan in 2005.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, JJ has extensive experience in the field of sports media relations having served Marietta and WVa Wesleyan as a sports information student assistant and directing the SID office at Lycoming in 2005-06.

Nekoloff is no stranger to Salem, having worked the NCAA Division II Softball Championship in 2005 co-hosted by the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) and the city. He serves as the media liaison to all four NCAA Division III Championships held in Salem.

James is an active member of CoSIDA and also participates in various professional organizations throughout the region and country.

Sara Rechnitzer
Assistant to the Commissioner/Director of Championships

Sara is completing her second year at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference as an intern through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant Program.  Prior to her internship with the ODAC, Sara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia.  At graduation, she received the Mary Jean Wellford ’48 Volunteer Leadership Award, which recognizes a graduating senior who shows great promise of leadership as a member of the college’s alumnae body.
 

Sara was a four-year letterwinner of the WildCat basketball team.  She was a two-time team MVP, an All-ODAC second-team selection, the recipient of the R-MWC Athletic Department Coaches’ Award and a 1,000 point scorer.  Sara also served as Vice-President of SAAC and was an active member of the Student-Athlete Mentoring program.  Sara was also active in campus life in which she was a member of Student Government, where she served as the Social Violations Hearing Board Chair.
 

Upon completion of her internship in the ODAC office, Sara plans to attend graduate school and continue working in college athletic administration and would eventually like to get into higher education.
