Sande, a graduate student from Raleigh, N.C., led Roanoke to a 3-1 record over the holidays as the Maroons improved to 8-4 overall. She posted double figures in all four games, including three straight double-doubles in a trio of wins. After scoring 13 points in a 69-56 loss to Central (Iowa) at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn. on Dec. 19, Sande totaled 14 points and a career-best 15 rebounds the next day in a 61-57 victory over North Park. She followed that up with a tournament MVP performance in Roanokeās own Susan Dunagan Holiday Classic on Dec. 29-30, notching 15 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high six assists in an 81-58 victory over York (Pa.), followed by a season-high 19 points to go along with 12 rebounds in an 85-64 win against Lancaster Bible. For the season, Sande is averaging 10 points and 5.5 rebounds.
