Four-time National Champion head coach in both Men’s Basketball in 1973 (NAIA) as well as Men’s Golf in 1989 (NAIA), 2002 (NCAA), and 2005 (NCAA). One-of-two coaches to lead an NAIA national championship team in multiple sports. Guilford Men’s Golf qualified for the NAIA or NCAA National Tournament in 26 of his 33 seasons at the helm, including 15 of 18 after Guilford joined NCAA Division-III and the ODAC ahead of the 1991-92 athletic year. Held a 386-392 career record with six 20-plus wins and a dozen winning seasons as basketball coach Coached 10 ODAC Championship winning teams and 10 ODAC Tournament Individual Champions in Men’s Golf, with the program accumulating 11 ODAC Golfer of the Year honors, two Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, two Rookie of the Year honors, with another two in Men’s Basketball, and 51 All-ODAC selections, with four more in Men’s Basketball under his guidance. The ODAC Men’s Golf Coach of the Year award, an honor Jensen himself won nine times, more than any other coach in conference history, was named in his honor in 2011 after his passing, with the Basketball Court and Golf Clubhouse on the campus of Guilford College now also named after him.
