- Namesake of the ODAC's Marjorie Berkley Award as the top women's sports student-athletic in the conference who exhibits the highest athletic, academic, and extracurricular achievements
- First associate commissioner of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference
- Athletics director and chairman of the women's physical education department at Lynchburg College from 1945-56
- Hollins Univeristy professor emeritus and director of athletics from 1959-89
- Coached four undefeated field hockey teams at Hollins in 1963, 1975, 1976, 1977;
- In 1979, the Hollins field hockey team won the VAIAW Field Hockey Championship
- Served as Director of Championships for the United States Women’s Lacrosse Association and the Director of the AIAW National Division III Field Hockey Championship
- Inducted into the Hollins University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995 and the James Madison University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998
- Held numerous administrative positions including serving as site director for the 1986 International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Association World Cup, directing championships for the United States Women's Lacrosse Association, serving on NCAA tournament selection committees, directing the 1980 Division III national field hockey championships, and advising for the first Canadian National Lacrosse Association Tournament
ODAC HOF Quick Fact: During her time as a professor at then Lynchburg College, Berkley was one of the teachers of Dan Wooldridge, the ODAC's first commissioner. Berkley, who later worked with Wooldridge as the first ODAC associate commissioner, first taught Wooldrige in 1952 and maintained a relationship for 65 years until
her passing in 2017.
