HONOREE FROM WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
- Pioneering Role: Joined W&L in spring 1985 as the first female athletic staff member, tasked with coordinating women’s athletics during the University’s transition to co-education and recruiting its first female athletes
- Program Builder: Transformed W&L’s women’s athletics into one of the top Division III programs, while also serving as women’s tennis coach from 1989–2007
- Coaching Excellence: Posted a 383-57 (.871) career record, won 17 ODAC Championships, earned 11 ODAC Coach of the Year honors, and led the Generals to 15 NCAA Tournaments, including 14 straight from 1994–2007
- National Achievement: Guided W&L to six straight NCAA Semifinals appearances (2002–07), five national runner-up finishes, and the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championship—the first team title by a W&L women’s sport
- Individual Standouts: Coached two NCAA Singles Champions, one NCAA Doubles Championship team, 50 All-America honorees, and multiple National Players of the Year; had athletes earn NCAA Woman of the Year finalist and NCAA Walter Byers Scholarship honors
- Academic & Community Impact: Maintained teams among the highest GPAs at W&L, produced numerous ITA Academic All-Americans, and fostered student-athlete recognition for sportsmanship and community service
