- ODAC Player of the Year (1987)
- Named First Team All-American, Richmond Touchdown Club Player of the Year, VaSID Player of the Year, Roanoke Times Player of the Year (all for 1987 season)
- Held 10 program records, including seven national passing records, at the time of his graduation
- Led the team to two ODAC Championships (1985, 1986), two NCAA Playoff appearances (1986, 1987) and a South Region Championship (1987)
- Finished his career with 386 completions on 738 attempts for 6,103 yards, 80 touchdowns, and a 148.6 passer rating. He had also rushed for 933 yards and 13 touchdowns in his four years.
