HONOREE FROM EMORY & HENRY UNIVERSITY
- Inducted into the E&H Sports Hall of Fame as both a successful coach and as the founder of the college's Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP)
- Coached E&H women's volleyball from 1977-92, racking up 13 winning seasons with eight of 20 or more victories and one 30-win campaign
- While coaching volleyball, Hutson served as the athletic trainer for all sports (no other ATCs at the time)
- Her ATEP program became accredited in 2001, one of just four programs in Virginia
- Received E&H's Donna Fanelli Award for her support of women's athletics in 2006 and the United Methodist Exemplary Teaching Award in 2001
- Coached the University of Tennessee women's basketball program to a 60-18 record in two seasons before Pat Summit took over as her successor
