R-M Woman's College Leads the Way with Over 4,000 Items
Donated
SALEM, Va. --- The Old Dominion Athletic
Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (ODAC SAAC) recently
completed its conference-wide community service project. The
26-member committee worked together, with individual campus SAACs,
to collect canned goods for the third-annual ODAC Food Drive.
The drive, which concluded recently, was a huge success with the
conference SAACs working to collect food items for local food
pantries and shelters across the Commonwealth. The conference-wide
group accumulated nearly 15,845 items that were distributed earlier
this week. This year's total well surpassed the 13,100 items
from a year ago.
Each campus SAAC kept a tally to determine which conference school
had the most successful food drive. Randolph-Macon Woman's College
easily won the contest by collecting 4,005 total items.
Washington and Lee finished in second with 3,019 items donated
followed by Eastern Mennonite University with 2125 items.
