ODAC Football Report: Week 5

RMC/SU Nailbiter Highlights First Week of Conference Play

ODAC fans were treated to the first conference games of the season in Week Five. Two games featured shutouts with a third high-scoring affair surrounding a one-point nailbiter.

Hampden-Sydney and Washington and Lee registered shutouts of their opponents. The Tigers' 31-0 win over Guilford marked their first blanking of an opponent since the 2021 spring COVID season. The Generals downed Averett, 35-0, to post their first shutout since game two of 2022.

Bridgewater trailed Ferrum, 6-0, early on, but 41 unanswered points powered the Eagles to a 41-15 triumph on the road. Randolph-Macon, ranked 25th by both D3football.com and the AFCA, played catchup for much of the contest at Shenandoah before pulling out a 22-21 intense road win.

All eight ODAC teams still own .500 or better overall records. Bridgewater, Guilford, Hampden-Sydney, Randolph-Macon, and Shenandoah are all 3-1. Averett, Ferrum, and Washington and Lee are 2-2.
