SARAH WATTS | LYNCHBURG | SO. | 2B | SOUTH BOSTON, VA.
Watts, a sophomore from South Boston, Va., was perfect from the dish in Lynchburg's sweep (3-0, 4-3) of Pacific Lutheran University to improve the Hornets record to 6-0 to start the season. Watts went 6-for-6 over the two games with four extra-base hits, four RBI, and three runs scored. In game one, she went 3-for-3 with a double. She drove in two runs with a single in the sixth inning. In game two, Watts again went 3-for-3 with all three knocks going for extra bases. She belted a pair of solo homers, the first a line shot to right that tied the game 1-1 in the second inning. Her fourth inning homer was a towering blast to left that gave Lynchburg a 3-1 lead. With the score tied in the bottom of the seventh, Watts doubled to left-center and then trotted home with the game-winning run on Alex Dinardo's pinch-hit single.
