ODAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 4

  • ALLIE DOYLE | WASHINGTON AND LEE | SR. | D | RIDGEWOOD, N.J.
Doyle, a senior from Ridgewood, N.J., helped the then nationally ninth-ranked Generals put together an outstanding defensive effort towards a 15-8 triumph over then second-ranked Gettysburg College. Both teams are now ranked eighth and fourth, respectively. Doyle marked All-American Jordan Basso for much of the contest, helping to limit her production and in turn forcing the Bullets to half of their per-game scoring average (16.5 goals/game) entering the contest. Doyle forced three turnovers in the matchup, one of which turned into a Shannon Timoney goal for a 5-4 Washington and Lee advantage, putting the Generals ahead for good. Doyle also picked up four ground balls.

  • LIBBY BOWMAN | ROANOKE | SR. | A | SALEM, VA.
Bowman, a senior from Salem, Va., posted 10 points in helping nationally 16th-ranked Roanoke posted a pair of non-conference victories against fellow ranked opponents. In a 10-9 double-overtime win over then #19 St. John Fisher University (now #21), Bowman scored twice and dished out one assist. All three of her points came as the Maroons clawed back from FIVE three-goal deficits to eventually tie the game with two minutes left in regulation and win on a Nicole Harrison tally in the second extra frame. On the weekend, Roanoke took down then 22nd-ranked Kenyon College (now receiving votes towards the poll), 16-12. Bowman exploded for a career-high tying six goals to go with one assist. Five of her goals were unassisted, bringing that total to seven for the week. Bowman has registered 22 points on 17 goals and five assists over the Maroons' first five games.
