FOREST, Va. --- ODAC student-athlete success is well-documented both in the athletic arena and in the classroom. The conference's level of academic achievement reached new heights this season with the announcement of the 2023-24 ODAC All-Academic Team. For the first time in league history, more than 3,000 student-athletes garner recognition for their prowess in the classroom.

Eleven conference members saw their individual totals set records, helping the ODAC All-Academic Team boast 3,175 honorees, far surpassing the previous benchmark of 2,871 scholastic standouts set just last season. This marks the sixth straight year and seventh of the last eight that the ODAC's overall total has eclipsed 2,000 honorees.

Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the academic year to be considered for ODAC All-Academic Team recognition.

Washington and Lee University led the charge of record-setters with a conference all-time high 537 student-athletes meeting academic team standards. Shenandoah University and the University of Lynchburg feature more than 300 honorees at 329 and 322, respectively. Not only are those school-record figures, but it marks the first time that three ODAC schools showcased more than 300 members of distinction in one season.

Seven schools eclipsed 200 honorees with Bridgewater College (269), Ferrum College (203), and Roanoke College (290) setting new school marks. Randolph-Macon College (260) came up just shy of its school-record 263 honorees in 2019-20.

Averett University saw 33 more Cougars join the list than their first season in 2022-23, setting a new school standard at 143. Eastern Mennonite University (123), Randolph College (94), Sweet Briar College (73), and Virginia Wesleyan University (181) saw their representation reach new heights.

Guilford College saw 161 Quakers earn all-academic status, while Hampden-Sydney College returned to triple digits at 103 honorees. Hollins University came up just one standout shy of matching its record from 2021-22 with 66 honorees this year. ODAC associate members Greensboro College (11) and Southern Virginia University (10) accounted for 21 combined honorees.
