ODAC Swimming Report: Week 15

It was a busy week for ODAC swimming programs with 10 women's teams and nine men's squads in action in either dual settings or tri-meet events. Two weekends of regular competition remain before league swimmers break from competition to taper and train for the ODAC Swimming Championships slated for February 12-15 in Greensboro.

    Ross, a senior from Woodbridge, Va., competed in four events and stood atop the podium three times as Bridgewater earned a 202-55 victory at Virginia Wesleyan. Ross posted new personal-best marks in two of her three individual races. That included a win in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:07.16 and a second place showing in the 100-yard IM in 1:04.76, the third-best time in the conference. She also won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:11.43. Ross swam the second leg on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay squad. She joined Rory Cantwell, Nelle Hines, and Abby Martin on a time of 1:46.20.

  • MAXIMO JACQUET | LYNCHBURG | SO. | CONCEPCION DEL URUGUAY, ARGENTINA
    Jacquet, a sophomore from Concepcion del Uruguay, Argentina, competed in four events and stood atop the podium four times in Lynchburg's narrow 134-128 loss at Mary Washington. Individually, Jacquet won the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke races in 0:52.29 and 1:58.60, respectively. Both times are a bit below his season-bests, which both feature inside the ODAC's top-10. Jacquet also competed in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays. He was the first in the water in both, joining Ryan Bambrick, Miles West, and Will Kasemeyer on a time of 1:36.20 in the medley and grouping with Tyler Caten, West, and Kasemeyer on a time of 1:27.16 in the free relay.
