WLU's Clemens Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

LEXINGTON, Va. --- First Year Ryan Clemens of the Washington and Lee University Football team has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after a career day on the ground in the Generals' 35-14 win over Roanoke on Saturday.

Clemens earned the first national recognition of his career, becoming the 16th player in program history to represent W&L on the weekly Division III Honor Roll. Over the past three seasons, the Generals have had three players named to the Team of the Week, with Hunter Hawk '24 selected in Week 10 of 2023 and Jalen Todd '25 honored during Week 7 last season.

The Doylestown, Pa., native followed up his career performance against Averett — which earned him Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week honors — with another three-touchdown game. Clemens carried the ball 22 times for a career-high 223 yards and three touchdowns in just his third game as the Blue and White's primary back. He averaged 10.1 yards per carry, rushing for scores of 7, 28, and 39 yards. Clemens and the entire offense rushed for 387 yards and five touchdowns in the win, eclipsing the 300-yard rushing mark for the fifth time this season and the second time in two weeks.

Clemens ranks second in the ODAC this season with 722 yards on 100 carries with seven touchdowns. He ranks seventh in Division III this season in rushing yards per carry, averaging 7.22 yards.

W&L wraps up the regular season with a road trip to Winchester, Va., on Saturday, Nov. 15, as they take on Shenandoah University at 1 p.m. at Shentel Stadium.
