MARIA JELLIG | WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
Jellig, a senior from Haddonfield, N.J., had a special day with four individual first place finishes including a NCAA B-cut and contributions to a pair of top-three relays at the Arena Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College. In the 200-yard backstroke, Jellig shaved nearly four seconds off her prelims time to win at 2:02.80 to eclipse the B-cut standard and rank as the 17th-fastest time in Division III. Jellig also won the 100-yard butterfly in 0:56.30 as well as the 200-yard and 400-yard IMs with times of 2:07.18 and 4:32.26, respectively. She is now top of the ODAC chart in each event, although her 200-IM prelims time at RMC is the new standard at 2:06.31. Jellig joined six teammates in the 400-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle relays. The 400-medley team of Jellig, Frances Fenton, Peighton Kruzel, and Amelia Maloof finished third at 3:53.60. The 800-free team of Jellig, Gabriella Clements, Katherine Moorman, and Marcie Mortimer chimed in second at 7:52.17.
