FOREST, Va. --- Six teams took the Division III basketball dance and three are still hearing the music following the first two rounds of the NCAA basketball tournaments.
In the women's ranks, both
Randolph-Macon College (29-1) and
Washington and Lee University (25-5) claimed wins in the first round, but the Generals saw their season come to a close in round two. The Yellow Jackets held serve at home and extended their winning streak to 28 straight games to advance to the sectional round. RMC, one win shy of the program's second 30-win season, travels to Gettysburg College for Round of 16 and possible quarterfinal play. Randolph-Macon (29-1) meets the host Bullets (27-2) in the second of two games on Friday. NYU (27-0) and SUNY Geneseo (24-6) square off in the first game.
