ODAC Field Hockey Report: Week 5

The first four conference games of the 2026 season are in the books with Bridgewater (6-4), Lynchburg (6-5), Roanoke (4-5), and No. 19 Washington and Lee (5-3) claiming wins in their openers. The Generals outing came against No. 18 Shenandoah for WLU's first win over SU since 2022. Shenandoah (7-2) boasts the most wins in the league with BC and Lynchburg's six second among the league's nine teams. A total of 11 games were played last week with ODAC teams going 2-5 against non-conference foes.

  • SHAY SCHOONES | LYNCHBURG | GOALKEEPER
    Schoones, a senior from Hoogeveen, Netherlands, earns her second straight and third overall ODAC weekly honor after helping Lynchburg begin ODAC play with a 3-1 victory at Randolph-Macon College. Schoones saw 19 shots fired at her cage with 14 on-target. She turned back 13 to match her season high and post a .929 save percentage. For the season, Schoones leads the ODAC with an .858 save percentage and is tied with Bridgewater's Thaleia Khader and Washington and Lee's Helenka Chodakiewicz with a league-best four shutouts. Schoones owns a 1.40 goals against average, which is third in the conference.

  • ZOE DOLFIS | WASHINGTON AND LEE | FORWARD
    Dolfis, a senior from Fairfax, Va., registered the first goal and game-winner in the No. 19 Generals 2-0 victory over No. 18 Shenandoah on Saturday in a clash of top-25 ODAC programs. Dolfis picked a great time for her second goal of the season, helping Washington and Lee set the tone with a run-of-play tally with 7:36 showing on the first quarter clock. Her efforts helped WLU to its first win over Shenandoah since 2022. Dolfis has registered six points on two goals and two assists this season.

  • NATALIE STOCK
    Bridgewater, Sophomore, Midfield
    Stock scored twice for four points in Bridgewater's 3-0 conference victory over Sweet Briar. Both of her goals came in the Eagles' shutout win as Bridgewater opened ODAC play with a victory.

    SOFIA BOON
    Lynchburg, Freshman, Forward
    Boon scored twice for four points in Lynchburg's 3-1 victory over Randolph-Macon. Her two-goal performance helped the Hornets secure a win in their ODAC opener.

    VALENTINA AMBROGI-TORRES
    Randolph-Macon, Senior, Goalkeeper
    Ambrogi-Torres totaled 18 saves over 125:35 and posted a .750 save percentage against a pair of nationally ranked opponents. She made six saves to help Randolph-Macon force overtime in a 3-2 loss at No. 22 Mary Washington before producing a season-high 12 saves against No. 25 Lynchburg.

    KYLEE GORHAM
    Randolph-Macon, Sophomore, Midfield
    Gorham scored in both of Randolph-Macon's games against nationally ranked opponents, totaling two goals and four points for the week. She found the cage against No. 22 Mary Washington and followed with the Yellow Jackets' lone goal against No. 25 Lynchburg.

    CORINNE ORLANDO
    Roanoke, Sophomore, Midfield/Forward
    Orlando scored twice for four points in Roanoke's 3-2 victory over Batten. Both goals came with the Maroons trailing, as she twice delivered tying goals to help force overtime and ultimately a penalty shootout.

    WILLEMIJN VAN PUTTEN
    Roanoke, Freshman, Goalkeeper
    Van Putten made four saves on each of Batten's shot attempts in a penalty shootout to help Roanoke post a 3-2 victory over the Marlins.

    HELENKA CHODAKIEWICZ
    Washington and Lee, First Year, Goalkeeper
    Chodakiewicz stopped all three shots she faced over 60 minutes for a 1.000 save percentage and a shutout in Washington and Lee's 2-0 upset of No. 18 Shenandoah. The victory marked the Generals' first over Shenandoah since 2022.
