Generals One Shy of Max Points in ODAC Women's Lacrosse Poll

Washington and Lee Earns Nine First Place Votes, Shenandoah Claims Remaining Two

FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University has lifted 15 straight ODAC women's lacrosse trophies. The Generals again enter a season as the favorite to make it 16 in a row as the leaders of the conference preseason poll following a survey of the league's head coaches.

WLU collected one point shy of the maximum, picking up 99 markers powered by nine first place votes. Shenandoah University received the remaining two top nods on the way to 92 points. Roanoke College rounds out the top three positions with 81 tallies.

The next four positions in the poll are unchanged from a season ago with Randolph-Macon College (74) fourth followed by the University of Lynchburg (64), Bridgewater College (55), and Virginia Wesleyan University (46).

In the sections below, we look back to the 2025 season to set the tone for this year and then dive into some features of ODAC women's lacrosse for the upcoming 2026 campaign.

    • Seven ODAC schools posted .500 or better overall records with five above .600 with Washington and Lee (18-5, .783) and Randolph-Macon (.737, 14-5) at better than .700.
    • The Generals went unbeaten (10-0) through the ODAC regular season for the 11th straight season to lead the charge ahead of three teams at 8-2 – Randolph-Macon, Roanoke, Shenandoah.
    • WLU commanded the top-seed in the 8-team ODAC Tournament, followed in order by Shenandoah, Roanoke, Randolph-Macon, Lynchburg, Bridgewater, Virginia Wesleyan, and Ferrum

    • Washington and Lee has won 15 straight and 25 overall ODAC women's lacrosse titles. Roanoke is second on that list with 10 trophies.
    • ODAC champion Washington and Lee was the only conference squad that earned a spot in the Division III bracket of 47 teams.
    • The Generals traveled to Sewanee for early round action.
      • 1st Round: WLU def. Transylvania, 26-2
      • 2nd Round: WLU def. Sewanee, 19-5
    • With two wins in their pocket and two more needed to reach the semifinals in Salem, the Generals traveled to Franklin & Marshall College for sectional and possible quarterfinal action.
      • 3rd Round: Gettysburg def. Washington and Lee, 18-10
    • WLU owns an ODAC-best 19-24 (.441) record over 24 appearances in the Division III tournament.
    • Roanoke played host to the Division III semifinals and championship for the fifth straight and ninth time overall. Middlebury College posted a 10-9 triumph over Tufts University to claim its four straight and 11th overall Division III title.
    • IWLCA PRESEASON POLL: the IWLCA posted its annual preseason top-25 poll on January 19; Washington and Lee is the lone ODAC school to appear in the initial ranking, slotted ninth overall.
    • USA LACROSSE MAGAZINE TOP-20: USA Lacrosse posted its annual top-20 preseason poll on January 23; Washington and Lee again appeared as the lone ODAC representative, positioned 11th in the table.
    • USA LACROSSE MAGAZINE PRESEASON ALL-AMERICANS: USA Lacrosse announced its annual Preseason All-Americans on January 27; four ODAC players earned recognition

  • ODAC fans will benefit from the return of 10 more All-ODAC stars in 2026 than those that featured in 2025. Twenty-six of the 38 all-conference honorees from last season are back on league rosters with 12 All-ODAC First Team picks and 14 All-ODAC Second Team selections returning.

    Washington and Lee enjoys the most returning all-league talent with seven of the nine Generals that picked up accolades back in Lexington. That group includes ODAC Rookie of the Year, attacker Lara Baki, who was also a first team choice. Reigning ODAC Coach of the Year Lindsey Lutz welcomes back five Hornets to her roster at Shenandoah, while Randolph-Macon also features five all-league selections.

    • The ODAC will feature 11 competing squads this season competing in an eight-game unbalanced conference schedule in addition to their non-conference slates.
    • The first regular season non-conference game is slated for Saturday, February 7 with just Lynchburg in action; much of the rest of the league kicks into gear on Saturday and Sunday, February 14-15.
    • The first conference games featured Washington and Lee at Guilford on Tuesday, February 17.
    • The ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament will feature an eight-team bracket competed over four rounds in the third season of its new format.
      • First Round: Saturday, April 25 at #5-6 Seeds
      • Quarterfinals: Tuesday, April 28 at #3-4 Seeds
      • Semifinals: Friday, May 1 at #1-2 Seeds
      • Championship: Sunday, May 3 at the Highest Remaining Seed
    • The Division III semifinals and championship leave the state of Virginia – 2017-18 in Salem, 2019 at Randolph-Macon, 2021-25 in Salem – for the first time since 2017 with the Rochester Institute of Technology set to serve as host. Games are slated for Thursday and Sunday, May 22 and 24 at Judson Stadium in Rochester, N.Y.
