All-ODAC Men's Volleyball Awards Announced

RMC Collects Three Special Honors, Bridgewater and Randolph with One Each

ASHLAND, Va. --- As part of the festivities on Saturday following the ODAC men's volleyball championship match, the league announced its second set of All-ODAC Men's Volleyball Awards.

Now two-time conference champion Randolph-Macon College garnered an ODAC best six all-conference honors in addition to three special awards. Setter Kody Rogan earned his second ODAC Offensive Player of the Year award, while mentor Christian Taylor has now won both of the ODAC Coach of the Year plaques in the first two years of the league's sponsorship of men's volleyball. The Yellow Jackets' libero Brady Plucker received ODAC Defensive Player of the Year plaudits. First-year program Bridgewater College saw right-side Aiden Weaver garner ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels from the league's head coaches, while Randolph College middle Ahmed Diallo was tabbed the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the conference's athletic communications personnel.

Ten of this year's 28 All-ODAC honorees are appearing on their second straight awards list. That includes seven of the eight All-ODAC First Team selections. Rogan and RMC teammates Phillip Van Essendelft (MB) and Ian Wagenhauser (OH) are repeat first team picks, while Plucker moves up from the 2025 All-ODAC Second Team. Roanoke College outside Michael Cummins makes his second straight first team, while fellow Maroon Jackson Rutkowski (OH) moves up a rung from last year's second team. Virginia Wesleyan University outside JaMarhe Wills also jumped up from the second team.

EMU middle Daeman Odom is a repeat second team selection, while University of Lynchburg middle Bryce Jackson moved up to the second team from the 2025 All-ODAC Third Team. Roanoke middle Colin Mendoza is also a two-time all-league honoree following up last year's first team and ODAC Defensive Player of the Year selections with a second team appointment this year.

Rogan, a senior from Chesapeake, Va., is the driving force behind the ODAC's most efficient offense, boasting a .300 team attack percentage as the only conference team above .270 following the ODAC Tournament. Rogan is the ODAC leader in service aces with 44 at 0.46 per set. He is second in total assists (926) and assists per set (9.65) while also racking up 76 kills. He added 156 digs and 65 total blocks defensively. Last month in a 3-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan, Rogan set an ODAC record for assists in a four-set match and tied the league's all match-length record with 56 assists.

Plucker, a junior from Fredericksburg, Va., patrols the back-line for the ODAC's stingiest defense at a .162 opponent's attack percentage. Plucker is second in the ODAC in digs (246) and digs per set (2.54). He has made just 13 receiving errors in 523 service receptions attempts for a .977 reception percentage. Plucker and Roanoke's CJ Kingston both set the ODAC three-set match record with 24 digs, which is tied for the top mark in Division III entering Saturday's action.

Taylor is in his fifth season guiding Randolph-Macon men's volleyball. This is his second top-coaching award with either the ODAC or RMC's previous league, the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC). Saturday's win over EMU for the ODAC title marked his 105th career victory and ODAC-best 30th of the season to set a new program record. His career-record stands at 105-51 (.673) entering the Division III tournament. The Yellow Jackets are currently ranked 17th in the latest AVCA top-25 poll.

Weaver, a first-year from Newport News, Va., was a steady performer all season in Bridgewater's inaugural campaign. Weaver closed the year second in the ODAC in kills (284) and 10th in kills per set (2.58). He was also third in points (352.5) and 10th in points per set (3.20). His 78 total blocks ranked sixth in the league. Weaver went for a career-high 16 kills three times, all in conference play. He also had a career-high eight total blocks (3 solo, 5 assists) in the Eagles' very first victory against Bethany (W.Va.). Weaver was named to the All-ODAC Third Team for his efforts.

Diallo, a sophomore from Aurora, Colo., pairs the ODAC/VAFB Scholar-Athlete Award with an All-ODAC Second Team selection. Diallo stars on and off the floor for the WildCats, maintaining a 3.95 grade point average as a biology and sociology double major. Soon to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa national honor society, Diallo is secretary of the Randolph Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He is part of the Randolph honors program and a global scholar who has achieved on Randolph's Dean's List each semester. On the court, Diallo set career-highs in every statistical category. He closed his season sixth in the ODAC in kills (267) and points (318.5), eighth in points per set (3.25), and ninth in kills per set (2.72) and total blocks (56).
