ODAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 10

All but one of last week's 11 games featured as ODAC outings. Nationally third-ranked Lynchburg and No. 20 Washington and Lee both won twice, extending their respective winning streaks to six and four games. Hampden-Sydney also won twice in-league to move the Tigers to 5-2 in ODAC play and tied with Roanoke for third. WLU is second at 7-1 with Lynchburg at 6-0 atop the table. Four teams have posted double-figure win totals so far this year – Lynchburg (11-1), Randolph-Macon (10-3), Virginia Wesleyan (10-5), WLU (10-5).

  • ERIC ALLEN | LYNCHBURG | GOALKEEPER
    Allen, a junior from Mechanicsville, Va., picks up his second ODAC weekly honor after helping nationally third-ranked Lynchburg to a pair of conference victories. It all started with a 25-0 win over Guilford. Allen started and worked the opening quarter with four ground balls before exiting the contest. Then in a big 14-10 win over Randolph-Macon – which was receiving votes towards the latest USILA top-20 poll – Allen registered 10 saves and four more ground balls in a full shift in front of goal. For the season, Allen owns a 12.10 goals against average with a .421 save percentage on 77 saves.

  • RILEY HASTINGS | LYNCHBURG | ATTACKMAN
    Hastings, a senior from Alpharetta, Ga., collects his fourth weekly award as he continued his strong season with nine more points over a pair of wins over nationally third-ranked Lynchburg. Hastings opened his week with three points on one goal and two assists. One of his goals was unassisted to go with one ground ball. In a 14-10 victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday, Hastings led all players with six points on five goals and one assist. Four of his goals and his lone helper came in the first half as the Hornets carried an 11-4 lead into halftime. For the season, Hastings leads the ODAC in goals scored (41) and ranks third in points (65) and fourth in assists (24). Hastings is now fifth all-time in Lynchburg history with 256 points on 139 goals and 117 assists.
