ODAC Softball Report: Week 9

  • BAYLEE COMPTON | ROANOKE
    Compton, a junior from Roanoke, Va., went the distance twice for Roanoke to help the Maroons rattled off a pair of ODAC sweeps on the road at Randolph (9-1, 7-4 in 9 inn.) and Bridgewater (5-0, 7-5 in 8 inn.). Compton toed the pitching plate in the first game of both series. Versus the WildCats on Wednesday, she gave up one run on three hits. She walked three batters and struck out five. Randolph hit just .125 against her. On Saturday against the Eagles, Compton twirled a four-hit shutout. She walked three and fanned a pair while limiting BC to a .174 average. For the season, Compton is 9-6 with a 1.91 ERA. She has struck out 80 batters in 88.0 innings in the circle. The opposition is hitting just .193 against her.

  • MORGAN TUCKER | VIRGINIA WESLEYAN | RIGHT FIELD
    Tucker, a sophomore from Dinwiddie, Va., helped nationally top-ranked Virginia Wesleyan rattle off four more victories to improve to a Division III-leading 36-0 following a pair of road sweeps over Sweet Briar (11-0, 9-0) and Shenandoah (9-2, 16-4). The 2025 ODAC Rookie of the Year and All-American slashed .500/.571/1.500 with five of her six hits going for extra bases. Against the Vixens, Tucker went a combined 3-for-6. She hit a two-run homer in game one to account for her two RBI and doubled and tripled in game two while driving in three. Versus the Hornets, Tucker homered and drove in four runs in each game as part of a 3-for-6 day with a pair of walks. She hit a second two-run shot in game one and belted a grand slam in game two. For the season, Tucker leads the ODAC in batting (.515) and OPS (1.523) as well as RBI (59). She is second with eight homers.
