ODAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 10

  • JORDAN WHEELER | ROANOKE | MIDFIELDER
    Wheeler, a junior from Harwood, Md., had a stellar week at the tip of Roanoke's defense in helping the Maroons to a trio of victories at Randolph (25-0) and Bridgewater (19-7) and over Sewanee (19-6). On Wednesday against the WildCats, Wheeler caused four turnovers and pulled in a couple of ground ball with eight draw controls. She also scored one goal. Versus the Eagles on Saturday, Wheeler was a defensive menace with a half-dozen caused turnovers and just as many ground balls with nine draw controls. The next day, she posted three caused turnovers, three ground balls and draw controls in helping the Maroons hand the Tigers their second loss of the year. For the season, Wheeler is second in the ODAC in caused turnovers (34) and seventh in ground balls (42).

  • MADDIE McDONALD | ROANOKE | ATTACK
    McDonald, a junior from Swampscott, Mass., registered 19 points powered by 16 goals scored in a strong offensive effort to help Roanoke to a trio of wins at Randolph (25-0) and Bridgewater (19-7) and over Sewanee (19-6). Versus the WildCats on Wednesday, McDonald scored three times and dished out one assist. She added six draw controls, four caused turnovers, and three ground balls to her line. On Saturday against the Eagles, McDonald scored five unassisted goals with one assist. She also pulled in three draws. The next day, McDonald became the first Maroons six 2021 to post eight goals in a game. She added an assist to finish with nine points and chipped in seven draw controls to help RC hand the Tigers their second loss of the year. For the season, McDonald leads the ODAC in goals scored (69) and slots second with 83 points.
