ODAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 11

  • LIZA FERGUSSON | ROANOKE | DEFENSE
    Fergusson, a junior from Richmond, Va., put together a strong defensive day in helping Roanoke secure the third seed in the ODAC Tournament with a 16-5 win over Shenandoah on Wednesday. Fergusson caused a trio of turnovers and picked up four ground balls as a standout performing on a defensive unit that limited the Hornets to nearly nine goals below their season average. She also got forward to score the Maroons' fifth goal early in the second quarter. For the season, Fergusson is sixth in the ODAC in caused turnovers (24) and tied for eighth in ground balls (37).

  • MADDIE McDONALD | ROANOKE | ATTACK
    McDonald, a junior from Swampscott, Mass., collects her second straight ODAC weekly award after helping Roanoke secure the third seed in the ODAC Tournament with a 16-5 win over Shenandoah. McDonald contributed directly to 10 of the Maroons' goals as she scored six times and dished out four assists. She had a hand in five of Roanoke's first seven goals to help the Maroons' build a 7-2 lead midway through the second quarter. McDonald also came away with five draw controls. For the season, McDonald leads the ODAC in goals scored (74). She is second in points (92) and tied for 12th in assists (18). She is fourth in draw controls (78).

Liza Fergusson
