ODAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 8

Seven of last week's nine women's lacrosse games featured as ODAC matchups in a fairly light week of action. Nationally sixth-ranked Washington and Lee was joined by Guilford and Shenandoah in winning a pair of games. The Generals maintained their hold on the top spot in the league table at 6-0 against ODAC foes and 11-2 overall as the first conference program to reach double-digit figures this season. SU is right on their heels at 9-4 and 5-0. The Quakers two wins evened their record at 6-6 overall to give the ODAC seven teams with at least a .500 or better overall winning percentage.

  • ADDISON HARMEL | SHENANDOAH | MIDFIELDER
    Harmel, a sophomore from Bel Air, Md., helped Shenandoah limit a pair of ODAC opponents to 11 combined goals in the Hornets' ODAC wins over Bridgewater (19-5) and Randolph-Macon (9-6). Against BC, Harmel caused five turnovers and picked up four ground balls along with one draw control. She also got forward to register four points on three goals and one assist. Versus RMC, Harmel caused turnovers including a key takeaway with a one-goal lead in the fourth quarter. She chipped in a ground ball and a goal scored. For the season, Harmel has posted 23 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers with 16 draw controls and 33 points on 21 goals and two assists.

  • AYLA JANTZ | SHENANDOAH | ATTACK
    Jantz, a sophomore from Fredericksburg, Va., put together an 11-point week to help Shenandoah improve to 5-0 in ODAC play (9-4 overall) with wins over Bridgewater (19-5) and Randolph-Macon (9-6). Against the Eagles, Jantz matched her career-high six goals scored including two unassisted efforts. She added two ground balls and five draw controls. Versus the Yellow Jackets, Jantz notched five points on four goals and one assist. He fourth goal of the game gave SU an 8-6 lead midway through the fourth quarter to stop a two-goal run by RMC and end its late comeback bid. Jantz chipped in two ground balls and a draw control. For the season, Jantz has registered 39 points on 34 goals and five assists with 19 draw controls, 12 ground balls, and five caused turnovers.
