FOREST, Va. --- Last season, the University of Lynchburg and Washington and Lee University tied atop the ODAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. This season, the landscape is a little different with the Hornets earning the maximum number of points to headline this season's table.
Hornets continued men's soccer's trend of consistent teams picked top the annual coach's survey. Lynchburg or WLU teams have held the No. 1 position every year since 2015. This year's Hill City crew has a 10-point edge of the Generals with 121 points powered by a maximum 11 first place votes. Washington and Lee earned the remaining top nod on the way to 111 points.
Hampden-Sydney College moved up two spots from last year's preseason chart into third position with 101 markers. Bridgewater College (84) and Batten University (79) are tightly packed in the fourth and fifth slots, respectively.
In the sections below, we look back to the 2025 season to set the tone for this year and then dive into some features of ODAC men's soccer for the upcoming 2026 campaign.
