Villalta, a first-year from Woodbridge, Va., helped EMU break through for the first two wins of head coach Trevor Swartz's career by keeping a pair of clean sheets in the Royals' 2-0 week. It all started with a 1-0 non-conference triumph over ODAC and crosstown rival Bridgewater College on Wednesday. A total of 17 shots were fired Villalta's way with the Royals' netminder turning back all four that were on-target. Villalta registered his second career shutout on Saturday with a pair of saves in a 2-0 non-conference win at Wilson College. For the season, Villalta owns an .800 save percentage with eight saves over three full games.

WILLIAM CASEY | LYNCHBURG | CENTER BACK
Casey, a junior from Chapel Hill, N.C., played a key role on both ends of the pitch in helping nationally 10th-ranked Lynchburg to a 2-0-1 against strong competition. While he did not move the scoreboard in the Hornets' first game of the week on Wednesday, Casey helped Lynchburg's backline stiffen after going down 2-0 on the way to a 2-2 draw with No. 13 University of Mary Washington. On Friday, scored Lynchburg's first goal off an assist from Izaack Cruz to level the score 1-all in the 45th minute as part of the Hornets' 2-1 triumph over Hope College, which was receiving votes toward the latest United Soccer Coaches top-25. The loss was the Dutch's first of the season. The same could be said of Salisbury University on Saturday as the Hornets' 5-1 triumph handed the Sea Gulls their first defeat of 2026. Casey assisted Jefferson Lopez Coreas in the 25th minute to give Lynchburg a 2-1 lead. Casey then made it 3-1 Hornets in the 53rd minute with an unassisted tally. For the season, has notched six points on two goals and two assists while also helping the Lynchburg defense allow eight goals in eight games played.

Barravino scored one goal for two points as EMU posted a 2-0 week. His tally was the game-winner in the Royals’ 1-0 non-conference rivalry victory over Bridgewater.

Trujillo recorded three assists for three points as Hampden-Sydney went 2-0. He assisted on the lone goal and helped preserve a clean sheet in a 1-0 win at Southern Virginia before supplying two assists in a 2-1 victory at Randolph.
