FOREST, Va. --- Shenandoah University forward/midfielder Kierney Weigle adds to her recognition from the first week of the season with a selection as the Division III Offensive Player of the Week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Weigle is the first Hornet to be recognized as a NFHCA player of the week since former goalkeeper Taylor Swann earned the defensive honoree in 2024.

Weigle, a sophomore from Biglerville, Pa., helped No. 19 Shenandoah open the 2026 season with a pair of victories after racking up 12 points in wins over Thomas (Maine) and Denison. In a 7-1 win over Thomas, Weigle scored twice and dished out a pair of assists. Four of her six shots were on-goal. In a 4-2 victory over Denison, Weigle registered her first career hat trick with three straight goals to account for her six points in the game. All six of her shots were on-goal.
