FRANK CSORBA | LYNCHBURG | GR | DISTANCE | BOYDTON, VA.
Csorba, a graduate student from Boydton, Va., turned in a scintillating performance in the 5K run at the Raleigh Relays, which has since earned him USTFCCCA Division III Athlete of the Week distinction. Csorba, competing in the largely Division I meet and just one of three Hornets entered in any field, became the first runner in ODAC history to crack 14:00.00 in the 5K. He snapped his own ODAC record (14:08.60) in placing 44th overall at 13:56.44. That is the fastest outdoor time in Division III this year (2nd overall) and the seventh-fastest time in Division III history. Csorba is the first Lynchburg athlete to earn USTFCCCA outdoor weekly honors in program history.
BRADY FOWLER | ROANOKE | JR | SPRINTS | WYTHEVILLE, VA.
Fowler, a junior from Wytheville, Va., blistered in the sprints on the way to a pair of national top-two times and an ODAC record at the Hornet Open hosted by Lynchburg. Fowler won the 200-meter dash with a new ODAC record time of 0:20.95. In addition to being tops in the ODAC after snapping the previous mark of 0:21.09 set by EMU's Alijah Johnson in 2022, Fowler is now second in Division III in the event, trailing Gallaudet's Eric Gregory by 0.10-seconds. Fowler finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 0:10.37. That time is #1 in the country by 0.11-seconds over GU's Gregory. Fowler also ran the anchor led of the Maroons winning 4x100-meter relay team. He joined Aidan Spradlin, Elijah Bolich, and Bryson Hill in posting an ODAC-best time of 0:41.45. That currently ranks fifth in Division III.
