ODAC Announces Outdoor Track & Field Awards

Special Honors and All-ODAC Teams from the 2025 Championships

FOREST, Va. — The special award winners from the ODAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships and regular season look much like the set that claimed honors from the indoor campaign as the ODAC announces its annual All-ODAC Outdoor Track & Field Awards.

Four athletes on both pages of the ledger repeat as special award honorees, albeit one on the women's side earned a different honor than the indoor campaign.

    Buckles picks up her first ODAC Track Athlete of the Meet award after winning a pair of sprints, finishing second in one relay and fourth in another, and chiming in eighth in the long jump.

    Myers has had a stellar 2024-25 season beginning with ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels in cross country and continuing with ODAC Track Athlete of the Meet plaudits at the indoor championships. She has competed in four different events during the outdoor season featuring three of those disciplines at the ODAC championships.

    Wright is now a two-time ODAC Rookie of the Year, adding this honor to the indoor plaudit he received a couple of months ago. His three-event showcase at the outdoor championships included a new ODAC championship record in the 4x100-meter relay with teammates Michael Hamm, Jaylen Jones, and Nekolas Raya.

  • OPHELIA LADNER | ROANOKE | JR. | HURDLES/SPRINTS | BRUNSWICK, MAINE
    Ladner shines on and off the track for Roanoke. In the classroom, Ladner maintains a 3.913 grade point average as a sociology major  with a minor in literary studies and a concentration in publishing and editing. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, Alpha Lamba Delta, and the Public Affairs Society. She has earned President's List, Dean's List, and Athletic Honor Roll accolades over her three years Ladner was awarded the Max Weber Paper Award, the Giordano Family Scholarship, and Bergeson Memorial Scholarship. She was a 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District honoree. On the track, Ladner set the ODAC championships record in the 400-meter hurdles and joined teammates Mae Kaufman, Maryrose Molina-Shuman, and Lindsey Hobin in winning the 4x400-meter relay.

  • KEATON RUSH | WASHINGTON AND LEE | JR. | DISTANCE | DEVON, PA.
    Rush is now a two-time ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau scholar-athlete, pairing this award with his honor from the 2024 cross country season. He maintains a 3.945 grade point average as an accounting and economics double major. He is a five-time W&L Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-ODAC honoree. He has twice appeared on the W&L President's List. He is the associate director of the Williams Investment Society, Treasurer of the Student Body (executive committee), and has an internship with Wells Fargo awaiting him this summer. On the track, Rush set the ODAC all-time record (14:59.48) in the 10,000-meter run earlier this year. He is the W&L program record-holder in the indoor 3K, outdoor 5K, and outdoor 10K. At the ODAC championships, he finished third in the 5K.

  • DANA FREEMAN | WASHINGTON AND LEE
    Freeman collects her second ODAC top-coaching honor of the season and first of her career in the outdoor ranks after leading Washington and Lee to their second-ever ODAC women's outdoor championship. The previous title won by the Generals was the very first women's track & field championship sponsored by the ODAC in 1995.

  • JIM SPRECHER | LYNCHBURG
    Sprecher, who announced he will be moving on from Lynchburg earlier this season, led the Hornets to their fifth straight and 33rd overall men's outdoor championship. This is his third outdoor top-coaching honor. Lynchburg is currently ranked fifth in the country by the USTFCCCA.
