MYRTLE BEACH, Va. — Weather impacted the final day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. That did not stop ODAC athletes from shining during the three days of competition at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
A total of 10 ODAC stars earned 11 All-American honors. University of Lynchburg men's distance runner Sam Llaneza and Hornets hurdler, jumper, and sprinter Aniya Seward highlighted the effort this weekend.
Llaneza won the men's 1,500-meter run national title with a time of 3:51.05. This is the second time Llaneza has donned a gold medal this season. He and teammates Frank Csorba, Jacob Hodnett, and Chasen Hunt won the distance medley relay title at the indoor championships.
Seward was the only multiple All-American for ODAC competitors this weekend. She earned First Team All-American laurels by placing fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 0:14.01. She placed 15th in the triple at 11.67 meters (38-3.5) to garner Second Team All-America plaudits.
