WLU's Warr Finishes Fourth to Highlight ODAC Showing at Cross Country Nationals

Generals Women 15th, Men 20th, Lynchburg Men 26th

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- A warm, humid Saturday morning in Spartanburg, South Carolina, made for less than ideal conditionals for the 2025 Division III Cross Country Championships, but that did not stop Washington and Lee University junior Olivia Warr from extending the ODAC's run of national meets to three with at least one All-American finisher.

Warr, the Generals' two-time ODAC Runner of the Year and two-time South Region champion, backed up her ninth-place showing at last year's Division III chamipionships with a fourth-place finish this season. Warr completed the 6K course at the Roger Milliken Center in 21:14.9 to register the best finish in WLU and ODAC women's cross country history. Only four women's runners have finished in the top-10 in ODAC history. In addition to Warr's exploits the past two seasons, former Generals' star Josephine Schaeffer placed eighth in 1993 and ninth in 1995. Overall for ODAC cross country, there have been nine top-10 showings with former University of Lynchburg standout Ricky Flynn winning the national title in 2009. Warr's four-place run is the second-best in overall ODAC cross country history.
