MARY SCHLEUSNER | WASHINGTON AND LEE | FORWARD
Schleusner, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., continued her dominance of Division III women's basketball with not only a strong pair of outings for nationally eighth-ranked Washington and Lee at the Daytona Beach Shootout, but also securing a major milestone as just the fifth women's basketball player in ODAC history to reach 2,000 career points. Schleusner needed just 22 minutes to notch 15 points and 15 rebounds (11 defensive) to go with two steals and four blocked shots in the Generals' 68-33 triumph over the University of New England. She was 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line while also chipping in three assists. Schleusner turned up the production in WLU's 76-66 victory over No. 14 Carroll University. She scored 26 points – including her 2,000th and 2,001st on a layup with 2:39 to play – while pulling down 19 rebounds (12 defensive). She flipped her defensive numbers with four steals and a pair of blocked shots to give her six of each for the week. She also registered two more assists.
