MARY SCHLEUSNER | WASHINGTON AND LEE | FORWARD
Schleusner, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., etched her name next to yet another record book entry, this time becoming the Division III all-time leader in career rebounds by helping nationally sixth-ranked Washington and Lee stay unbeaten at 17-0 with a pair of ODAC wins last week. It was during a midweek 63-57 win over Bridgewater that Schleusner overtook former Denison University standout Jordan Holmes for the top spot, surpassing 1,711 boards and finishing that game with 1,713 as she continues on her quest to become just the second player at any NCAA level of women's basketball to surpass 2,000 points and 2,000 rebounds.
Against BC, Schleusner posted 22 points and 21 rebounds for her second 20/20 game of the season. She was 10-of-23 from the field and chipped in an assist, two steals, and three blocked shots. In an 81-78 win at Guilford on Friday, Schleusner registered 29 points and a season-high 28 rebounds (9 offensive) for her third 20/20 outing. She was 10-of-17 from the field and 9-of-12 from the foul line to go with an assist, a steal, and three blocked shots. Schleusner's two double-doubles give her 82 for her career, which is one off the Division III record held by former Swarthmore standout Kathryn Stockbower and former Randolph-Macon All-American Kelly Williams.
For the season, Schleusner leads the ODAC in scoring (21.9) and rebounding (17.3). She is second in blocked shots (38), fifth in field goal shooting (.498, 137-of-275), seventh in assist to turnover ratio (1.0), and ninth in assists (48).
