ODAC Women's Basketball Report: Week 11

ODAC women's basketball programs competed in a dozen games for the second straight week, all qualifying as conference contests. Nationally sixth-ranked Washington and Lee and No. 22 Shenandoah each won twice, with the same true for Averett, Bridgewater, and Guilford. The Generals remain unbeaten at 15-0, while BC, GC, and SU are all 13-2. Hollins is 11-4 and Randolph-Macon are 10-5. BC and WLU are 6-0 in league play with Shenandoah sitting 5-1 in conference games.

  • ADDISYN BANKS | SHENANDOAH | FORWARD
    Banks, a junior from Nokesville, Va., continues to be a revelation for Shenandoah as she filled the stat sheet in leading the nationally 22nd-ranked Hornets to a pair of ODAC victories over Randolph-Macon (67-42) and Lynchburg (72-51). Against the Yellow Jackets, Banks went for 20 point and 14 rebounds (all defensive) for her fifth double-double of the season. She was 7-of-17 from the field and 5-of-5 from the line and dished out five assists to go with a pair of steals. Banks was arguably better in SU's win over Lynchburg. She poured in 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. She chipped in eight boards (6 defensive) to go with six assists and four steals. For the season, Banks is fourth in the ODAC in scoring (17.9) and 10th in rebounding (7.4). She is second in assists (54), seventh in steals (34) and assists to turnover ratio (1.2), and 10th in foul shooting (.747, 59-of-79).

  • MARY SCHLEUSNER | WASHINGTON AND LEE | FORWARD
    Schleusner, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., put together another stellar week in helping nationally sixth-ranked Washington and Lee remain unbeaten (15-0) with a pair of ODAC road wins at Hollins (78-61) and Randolph-Macon (72-54). On Wednesday at HU, Schleusner was 9-of-16 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line on the way to 25 points with 19 rebounds (4 offensive). She chipped in an assist, a steal, and a blocked shot. On Saturday, Schleusner went for 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting and strong 10-for-11 showing from the stripe. She added 17 boards (4 offensive) for her 13th double-double, which is tied for second-most in Division III this season. She also notched four assists and a blocked shot. For the season, Schleusner leads the ODAC in scoring (21.4) and rebounding (16.3). She is second in blocked shots (32), fourth in assist to turnover ratio (1.3), fifth in field goal shooting (.498, 117-of-235), seventh in assists (46), and 16th in steals (28). Schleusner is now just 19 rebounds shy of the Division III career record, which is held by former Denison University standout Jordan Holmes (2014-17) at 1,711. She has scored 2,125 career points, fifth-most in ODAC history.

    • Averett guard DaiShaundria Giggetts averaged 15.5 points and 10.5 boards with 7 steals in the Cougars' 2-0 week.
    • Bridgewater guard Riley Corcoran averaged 17.5 points and 3.5 boards with 4 assists and 6 steals, and post Jaiden Polston averaged 11.5 points and 11.0 rebounds with 12 assists and 4 steals in the Eagles' 2-0 week.
    • Guilford guard Taylor Dunn averaged 14.5 points with 2 assists and 3 steals in the Quakers' 2-0 week. She notched a career-high 20 points in a win over Virginia Wesleyan. Guard Briahna Scott averaged 9.5 points with 4 assists and 9 steals.
    • Lynchburg guard Brooke Cason averaged 5.5 points and 4.0 rebounds with 6 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocked shots over the Hornets' two games.
    • Randolph guard Sophia Stevens 17.5 points and 3.0 rebounds with 2 assists and 3 steals, while forward Pariz Minor averaged 13.5 points and 13.5 rebounds with 3 steals and 2 blocked shots in the WildCats' 1-1 week.
    • Roanoke guard Alicea Farmer averaged 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds with 6 assists and 4 steals over RC's two games.
