GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Washington and Lee University added to its record amount of swimming titles on Saturday evening with the Generals lifting their 43rd and 44th swimming trophies following four days of competition at the 2025 ODAC Swimming Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
WLU collected 908.5 points to dominate the women's team standings, out-pacing second place Randolph-Macon College (539.0) by nearly 400 points on the way to donning its 34th ODAC crown. Roanoke College (478.0) placed third in a tight race with the University of Lynchburg (455.0), while Bridgewater College (350.0) separated as the fifth place squad.
In the men's ranks, Washington and Lee garnered 833.5 points to hoist its 10th conference trophy in 11 total men's events. Roanoke (604.5) out-paced Lynchburg (559.0) for second, while Bridgewater (471.0) cracked 400 points for the second straight season to beat Randolph-Macon (302.0) to the fourth-place pole.
Bridgewater's strong men's showing was powered by ODAC Swimmer of the Meet Zachary Erb, who won three events and set ODAC overall and championship records in each while achieving NCAA B-cuts in all three disciplines. The Eagles now feature the last two ODAC Rookie of the Meet honorees with first-year Christian Carroll taking home this year's honor. Washington and Lee experienced a similar awards haul with Bella Tarbet earning ODAC Swimmer of the Meet laurels and Celie Bredehoeft garnering ODAC Rookie of the Meet plaudits. Tarbet won three individual events with Bredehoeft capturing gold twice.
Generals mentor Kami Gardner was named the ODAC Men's Coach of the Year, while Randolph-Macon's Brent Kintzer took home the women's honor. WLU senior Matthew Fritz earned his second straight ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, while Lynchburg's Savy Borroughs received the women's accolade from the conference athletic communications personnel. Teammate Caitlyn Moore was tabbed the Bonnie Kestner Sportsmanship Award honoree in a vote of the league's head coaches.
