ODAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 6

For the second straight week, just one league featured on the ODAC schedule. Randolph-Macon earned an 18-4 win over Bridgewater in that contest. Conference teams played 13 non-league outings highlighted by then 13th-ranked (now #10) Washington and Lee's victories over then top-15 teams St. Lawrence (then #12, now #16) and Dickinson (then #17, now #17).

Randolph-Macon joins Roanoke at 2-0 in league games. Hampden-Sydney (5-2), Roanoke (5-2), and Randolph-Macon (5-3) have all won a league-best five games.

    Datz, a junior long-pole defenseman from West Chester, Pa., helped 12th-ranked Washington and Lee (then #16) limited two top-17 teams in the USILA coaches poll to 10 goals or fewer in a pair of Generals wins at the Callum Robinson Mustang Classic to earn his first ODAC weekly award. Datz caused a pair of turnovers and picked up seven ground balls in a 12-10 triumph over 16th-ranked St. Lawrence (then #12). He followed up with four caused turnovers and five ground balls in an 11-8 victory over 17th-ranked Dickinson. WLU limited the Red Devils to just six shots and three goals after the first quarter. For the season, Datz has caused 10 turnovers and picked up 24 ground balls in six games played.

    Haley, a junior attackman from Westfield, N.J., picks up his second ODAC weekly award of the season after registering 10 points to help 10th-ranked Washington and Lee (then #13) to a pair of non-conference wins over two top-17 teams in the USILA coaches poll at the Callum Robinson Mustang Classic hosted by Stevenson University. In a 12-10 victory over 16th-ranked (then #12) St. Lawrence, Haley scored four times as he was a constant threat to the SLU cage with nine of his 14 shots on-target. He also dished out a pair of assists and picked up a pair of ground balls. In an 11-8 victory over 17th-ranked Dickinson, Haley scored three times including WLU's first two tallies after falling behind, 3-0, early on. He handed out one assist and again picked up two ground balls. For the season, Haley has registered 23 points on 17 goals and six assists.
