Randolph-Macon Inks Patrick Corbett as New Women's Soccer Head Coach

ASHLAND, Va. --- Randolph-Macon Director of Athletics Jeff Burns has announced the hiring of Patrick Corbett to take the helm of the Women's Soccer program.

Corbett takes over the Yellow Jackets' program that went 11-5-4 overall and 7-3 in ODAC play last season. RMC hosted the ODAC quarterfinals against Guilford, topping the Quakers to advance to the semifinals.

"I am truly honored to be named the head coach of the Randolph-Macon women's soccer program," said Corbett. "Throughout the interview process, I could see that the school and athletics program's commitment to the student-athlete experience aligns seamlessly with my own goals. I am deeply grateful to Jeff Burns and the search committee for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity. I also want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Jeff Bowers and Ted Zingman for their invaluable mentorship in the college game, which has prepared me for this role. I am thrilled to join the Randolph-Macon community and lead this program forward!"

Corbett was most recently assistant coach at Dickinson College since 2021, guiding the Red Devils to the conference tournament each of the last three seasons, including making the Centennial Conference final in 2022. It marked his second stint in Carlisle, as he served as an assistant coach from 2017-2018.

"We went into this search with very specific things that we were looking for in our next head coach," said Burns. "Patrick emerged as someone who understood the College's mission of providing student-athletes with a first-class experience on and off the field.  He has a plan for building a championship culture, recruitment, and competing at the highest level on a yearly basis."

Corbett is no stranger to the ODAC, coaching under Jeff Bowers from 2018-2020, helping the Marlins to the NCAA tournament second round in 2019. The Marlins made the ODAC championship twice in his tenure, including in 2019, when the Yellow Jackets topped the Marlins in penalty kicks to take the conference crown.

Prior to heading to Carlisle for his first stint, Corbett served as the head coach of CCBC Catonsville men's soccer for two seasons from 2015-2016, making the playoffs in each year, as well as the women's head coach from 2012-2013.

At the club level, Corbett is currently with Coppermine Soccer Club at the helm of three teams. He also serves as the College Recruiting Coordinator, Coppermine North Coordinator, and Veo Coordinator.

Corbett played soccer for two seasons at Howard Community College from 2007-2008, serving as team captain in 2007, earning his Associate of Arts Degree. He then graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
