ASHLAND, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College lived up to its No. 1 ODAC billing on Saturday afternoon as they completed an unbeaten run against conference programs with a 3-0 over second-seeded Roanoke College to claim the first-ever ODAC men's volleyball championship.
The win awards the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship. The bracket featuring 19 teams is slated to be announced on Monday at 10:00 a.m. ET on NCAA.com.
The Yellow Jackets (22-9) went 12-0 during the ODAC's double round-robin season and added two more league tournament wins to complete a 14-0 run against league foes. The Maroons (22-12) went 8-4 in conference play and went 1-1 in the tournament with a win over EMU in the semifinals on Wednesday.
RMC's Ian Wagenhauser led all players with 15 kills on a .393 attack percentage. Bryce Matthews added 12 kills, while Kody Rogan kept the offense humming with 38 assists, tied for second-most in a three-set match in the ODAC this season. He also had a match-high three aces. Matthews posted match-best eight digs, while Nick Futrell led all players with three blocks.
Pierce Faulcon led Roanoke with nine kills, while Jason Rutkowski and Michael Cummins added seven each. Teagan Cole (15) and Gabe Fabbro (8) combined for 23 assists. Libero Kaeden Noble led the Maroons with six digs, while Fabbro and Andre Gates had two blocks each.
