ODAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 10

  • HAILEY PIERCE | RANDOLPH-MACON | FR. | M | MECHANICSVILLE, VA.
    Pierce, a freshman midfielder from Mechanicsville, Va., helped Randolph-Macon move into a tie for third place in the ODAC table with a pair of conference wins on the way to her first ODAC weekly award of the season. In the Yellow Jackets 25-4 midweek win at Averett, Pierce caused one turnover and picked up a pair of ground balls while also securing seven draw controls. She got in the scoring as well with one goal and one assist. Then in a key conference showdown with Shenandoah, Pierce forced a pair of miscues and gathered three loose balls with five more draw controls to help RMC to a 13-12 overtime victory over the Hornets. For the season, Pierce has caused six turnovers and picked up 12 ground balls with 51 draw controls. She has registered seven points on four goals and three assists.

  • MADDIE McDONALD | ROANOKE | SO. | A | SWAMPSCOTT, MASS.
    McDonald, a sophomore attacker from Swampscott, Massachusetts, registered 13 points in helping nationally 20th-ranked Roanoke to a pair of conference victories on the way to her first ODAC weekly honor. McDonald registered all of her points by scoring goals beginning with seven tallies in a 20-10 win at Lynchburg. Six were unassisted efforts as she scored on 7-of-9 shots on-goal. She added seven draw controls. In a 23-4 win over EMU on the weekend, McDonald registered six goals on each of her six shots on-frame. She chipped in two ground balls and a draw control. For the season, McDonald has already eclipsed her ODAC Rookie of the Year statistical highs with 54 points and 48 goals scored. Her six assists match her first-year output. McDonald has also registered 63 draw controls, 16 ground balls, and nine caused turnovers, the latter two figures marking career-bests.
