It was a busy and supremely successful week for ODAC outdoor & track field athletes as they closed the regular season with a bang ahead of this coming weekend's ODAC Championships hosted by EMU. Lynchburg started the buzz early by setting five ODAC records at the ultra-competitive Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University. Chasen Hunt set the all-time Division III record in the 5K, while Tor Hotung-Davidsen set new league marks in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs. Cooper Hurst established a new league benchmark in the 3K Steeplechase. Allison Dell took down the longest-standing (2001) women's track record in resetting the 10K standard.
Success continued into the weekend more school-records and top-times established as league programs competed seven meets overall. Randolph hosted its annual WildCat Invitational that included Bridgewater, EMU, Hampden-Sydney, Hollins, Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Sweet Briar. N.C. State welcome EMU, Ferrum, and Guilford to the Aggie Invitational, while Lynchburg, Randolph, and Roanoke athletes headed to UVA for the Virginia Challenge. Still more EMU athletes went to the Shippensburg Mid-Week PR Bonanza, while Virginia Wesleyan stayed close to home at the CNU Captains Invitational and Washington and Lee emerged from finals week to compete at the Hopkins-Loyola Invitational.
