ODAC Cross Country Report: Week 5

Four meets included ODAC cross country runners with seven schools in action. This is probably the most eclectic week of the schedule concerning race distances with events featuring 3K, 4K, 5K, 6K, and 8K courses.

ODAC Top Times Reports: MXC | WXC

  • LYDIA HARVEY | WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
    Harvey, a junior from New Castle, Ind., was the first of four straight finishers from Washington and Lee at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational in Newville, Pa. Harvey and 24 of her Generals teammates all competed in the 4K “short” race of the event. She chimed in third overall out of 111 runners with a time of 14:39.9, the second-fastest 4K time in the ODAC this season. She used a per-mile pace of 5:54.0.

    Washington and Lee, ranked 10th in Division III in the latest USTFCCCA poll, placed first overall with 12 points, a dozen markers clear of second place Messiah University.

  • HALL WILDMAN | WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
    Wildman, a first-year from Atlanta, Ga., was the first runner across the line in the 6K race at the Hornet Harrier Invitational & Commonwealth Challenge hosted by Shenandoah University at the difficult Kernstown Battlefield course. Wildman stopped the watches first of 45 runners at 20:32.3 to win by 9.4 seconds over second place teammate Davis Amare. Wildman used a 5:30.5 pace to lead a group of five consecutive Generals' finishers at the top of the field.
