ODAC Men's Volleyball Report: Week 3

Week three of ODAC men's volleyball was supposed to be a very busy stretch, but weather decreased the amount of matches played to 14 with several events cancelled. Roanoke won the lone league outing of the set, earning a 3-0 win over Randolph to improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in early league matchups. Randolph-Macon went 1-1, but the Yellow Jackets did take a set from defending national champion Southern Virginia. Virginia Wesleyan started its season with three wins from four matches.

  • SIAH HALL | VIRGINIA WESLEYAN | OPPOSITE
    Hall, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., put together a strong overall showing both at the net and in base defense during the Marlins' 3-1 showing in their first four matches of the season. Hall notched 29 kills to go with 32 digs, four total blocks, and five aces to account for 36.5 points earned over the two days of contests. On Friday, he combined for 17 kills, 17 digs, two total blocks, and four aces in a pair of 3-0 wins over Geneva and Shenandoah. On Saturday, Hall registered 12 kills and 15 digs with an ace and two blocks in a win over Wilkes (3-1) and a loss to Wisconsin-Lutheran (3-0).

  • JAMARHE WILLS | VIRGINIA WESLEYAN | OUTSIDE
    Wills, a junior from Newport News, Va., registered 54 kills and seven aces with five total blocks to account for 64.0 points in help Virginia Wesleyan start the season with three wins in their first four matches over the weekend. Wills had 23 combined kills against just four errors in a pair of 3-0 wins over Geneva and Shenandoah on Friday. He added four aces with seven digs and a block. On Saturday in a 3-0 win over Wilkes, Wills exploded for 21 kills on a .378 attack percentage. He added three aces, 10 digs, and a pair of blocks. In a 3-0 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran, Wills went for 10 kills with five digs and two more blocks.
