ODAC TRADITIONAL EQUESTRIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
On the docket for this week is the traditional championship of ODAC equestrian. Five squads – Bridgewater, Hollins, Lynchburg, Sweet Briar, Washington and Lee – will take to the L.M. “Sandy” Gerald Arena at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. ET. This is the second straight year the ODAC has conducted this championship at this venue, and also the second time it has been held in the fall.

Four riders per school will compete in two separate equitation over fences sessions. Two riders from each school's group of four will also compete on the flat.

The event will be stream by the ODAC and live results also supplied. Links to that information is below.

  • DEVON ANSLEY | BERRY COLLEGE
Ansley, a junior from Round Rock, Texas, is the first rider in the two-plus year history of ODAC single discipline equestrian to claim both of the ODAC Rider of the Week awards following Berry's competition at the College of Charleston on Sunday. Despite the Vikings' 7-3 loss to the Cougars – a point-margin that belies how close the show actually was evidenced by the 756-to-742 full score – Ansley collected both MOP honors from the show's judges. Over fences, Ansley and her counterpart, Savannah Shaver, rode Tinos. Ansley registered a 19-point victory, 84-65. On the flat, Ansley posted the highest overall score of the show with an 86 while riding Hitchcock to a five-point win over Daphne Stavig. Both fences and flat scores are season-bests for Ansley.
