Shupert, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., went 5-1 to finish fifth at 165 pounds at the ESU Open hosted by East Stroudsburg University. Shupert opened with a bang, pinning Jordan Austin from Myland Wrestling after just 0:36 on the mat. He then dropped a 9-5 decision to Billy Wood from Sussex County. Shupert rattled off four straight wins in the back draw beginning with a win by fall at 4:13 over Chad Jesko from Pitt-Johnstown. He then earned a 15-2 major decision over UPJ's Liam Evanko followed by his second win by fall (1:32) of UPJ's Andrew Mardula. He claimed fifth position with a 10-4 decision in a rematch with Wood. Shupert ranked second by the ODAC coaches and fifth in the NWCA's Region IV rankings at 165 pounds.

LUKE ZADRAZIL | AVERETT | 157 LBS
Zadrazil, a junior from Eastport, N.Y., went 3-2 on the way to a fourth-place showing at the ESU Open hosted by East Stroudsburg University. Zadrazil opened the event with three straight victories beginning with a 12-8 decision over Christopher Cifelli from Centenary. He followed with a win by fall of Temple's Nolan Halloran after 4:41 on the mat. In the quarterfinals, Zadrazil registered a tough 2-1 win over Ricky Halford from Pitt-Johnstown. Zadrazil dropped his final two bouts, a 20-3 technical fall (5:42) to Kutztown's Mason Harvey in the semifinals and a pin (1:39) to unattached wrestler Cade Campbell in the third-place match.
