ODAC Men's Volleyball Report: Week 10

Nationally 20th-ranked Randolph-Macon improved to 21-4 overall and is now 9-0 in ODAC play following a pair of conference wins last week. The Yellow Jackets have only lost 15 sets overall this season and have yet to drop one against league foes. Virginia Wesleyan (17-6), Roanoke (16-6), and Randolph (14-9) also have double figure victories with the Maroons at 9-1 in conference action. VWU and Lynchburg (9-9) are both 6-4 in-conference with the WildCats at 6-5.

  • BRYCE MATTHEWS | RANDOLPH-MACON | OUTSIDE
    Matthews, a junior from Chesterfield, Va., earns his second straight ODAC defensive weekly honor after helping nationally 20th-ranked Randolph-Macon to a pair of 3-0 ODAC wins over Lynchburg and Randolph. Matthews went for two total blocks (1 solo) with six digs against the Hornets. He added 15 kills at a .355 clip and pair of aces offensively. Versus the WildCats, Matthews posted three block assists and 14 digs to lead the Yellow Jackets' defense. He added 19 kills on a .283 attack percentage with one ace. For the season, Matthews is third in the ODAC in kills per set (3.18) and points per set (3.91). He is fourth in points (238.5), sixth in kills (194), eighth in blocks per set (0.79), 10th in blocks (48), and 11th in attack percentage (.306, 194-61-434).

  • KODY ROGAN | RANDOLPH-MACON | SETTER
    Rogan, a senior from Chesapeake, Va., continued to drive the Yellow Jackets attack as he helped push nationally 20th-ranked Randolph-Macon to a pair of 3-0 conference wins over Lynchburg and Randolph. Against the Hornets, Rogan registered 21 aces without a set error and added four kills and an ace. He chipped in 10 digs defensively. Versus the WildCats, Rogan dished out 35 assists for 11. 7 per set while adding two kills. He also put up 11 digs with four blocks (1 solo). For the season, the reigning ODAC Offensive Player of the Year leads the conference in aces (34) and aces per set (0.52). He is second in assists (586) and third in assists per set (9.02).
