  • SAM EGUI / RAFAEL JODAS | AVERETT UNIVERSITY
    Egui, a senior from Nueva Esparta, Venezuela, and Jodas, a sophomore from São Paulo, Brazil, went 2-0 last week at No. 3 singles despite being scheduled to play twice. They won by default in Averett's 7-0 team win over Guilford. In a 6-1 triumph over Roanoke, Egui and Jodas posted a 6-2 victory over JH Herrington and Jackson Wagner. The Cougars' duo picked up their second win in AU's 5-2 team loss to No. 36 Washington and Lee. Egui and Jodas earned a 7-6 (7) win over Sahil Arora and Pearce Lane.

  • RICARDS SPAKS | UNIVERSITY OF LYNCHBURG
    Spaks, a sophomore from Liepaja, Latvia, turned in a pair of wins at No. 1 singles including one over a ranked opponent as part of Lynchburg's 1-1 week as a team. In a 6-1 team loss at Methodist, Spaks posted a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 triumph over Matthew Hurley, the 37th-ranked singles player in Division III in the latest set of rankings released by the ITA on March 25. In a 6-1 Hornets' win at Roanoke, Spaks registered a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Federico Maccari.
